Checklist for RFQ (same as sending job):
There are some key elements that are needed to aid us in this
process. We use a "Request For Quote" form. This form is
used as a checklist to ensure that we have all the necessary
information to quote and/or manufacture your parts. The following
is an example of the information we are required to gather from you.
- Part number.
- Quantity.
- Do you require 1st articles?
- Requested lead-time or delivery date.
- Readable drawing.
- Do we have the correct revision level?
- Can you supply a computer aided drawing (CAD) file? (example: .dwg or .dxf)
- Part description.
- Tolerances. (dimensional and angular.)
- Does the part need to be deburred?
- Do tabs or micro joints need to be removed?
- Customer supplied material? (If so, we need an
inspection criteria form filled out
and faxed back, or your PO needs to
include details of material supplied, this enables us to verify that we
have received all the necessary and correct materials needed to proceed
with production.)
- Do you require material certification?
- Weld details if applicable.
- Finish. (raw, plated, painted, etc.)
- Packaging requirements or policy.
- Do you accept over or under shipments? If so, what percentage?
This seems like a lot of information, but it is essential in order to
assure that we satisfy you as a customer. Getting all this
information up front will make your quote, and/or job move through our
system with speed and accuracy, we call this speed to market. With the
exception of 1st article, lead-time, computer-generated file,
customer supplied material, and acceptable shipment quantities, all of
these questions should be answered with a complete drawing.
Thank you in advance for giving this checklist your undivided
attention. If you have any questions, please contact any of our
staff for further explanation. We are confident this will make
for a smooth, trouble free relationship, and allow us to provide you
with a quality product made to your specifications.
